On 22 January 2026 I had the privilege of presenting my PhD research at Canterbury Christ Church University
As a fellow PhD student, I found Kaye Cooke’s presentation at the Canterbury Conference ‘Shaping Tomorrow’s Policing: Evidence, Innovation and Impact’ 2026 both inspiring and highly engaging.
She presented her PhD research with exceptional clarity and confidence, skilfully breaking down complex methodology and findings into accessible and compelling insights. Her delivery was thoughtful, polished and engaging and it was clear that she had a strong command of her research, alongside a genuine appreciation of its real-world implications. The presentation prompted meaningful reflection and discussion and set a high standard for doctoral research communication.

I have presented my PhD Research findings to date online to audiences from both Teesside and Liverpool John Moores Universities. In 2024 I presented at the Warwick University Centre for Operational Police Research conference "Dimensions of Police Research, From Borders to Borough. A Showcase of Early Career Research"

I was both the Judges' and People's choice winner of the Teesside University Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT) in 2024. The challenge was to present my PhD thesis in no more than three minutes and I went on to become a national semi-finalist in the competition.
My feedback was that my presentation, enthusiasm and capturing of the audience's attention was "excellent, almost flawless"!
